- Search Engines love up-to-date content (Blogs) over old content (sites) that might be no accurate.
- Blogs support engagement and interaction between author(s) and reader(s) while sites not.
- Blogs have informative and business-relevant content that increase traffic and attract readers that are interested in the business's products and services, while sites contain explicit and pure business promotion.
- Provide informative, relevant and helpful content.
- Accommodate customer interaction.
- Do not delete negative comments but respond openly and address customers' concerns.
- Blog frequently.
- Research topics and keywords that your target group is interesting in.
- Optimizing content.
- Promoting content via Twitter (B2B), LinkedIn (B2B), Facebook (B2C), etc

Another good thing to point out is that blogs can kill business fast also. One bad product will be blogged about and that will be the first thing that Google pulls up. I think this is why many companies are having staff watch blogging sites to help keep their reputation high.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that blogs are a great way to build a business/product fast. Good reviews can convince people that wouldn't other wise have purchased.

I think at least the companies should try to build relationships with bloggers. I am an anthropologie clothing fan and there are so many blogs, but they invite the bloggers to special events and before new releases, so they talk about it at the blogs, I think is definitely a channel to be carefully considered for the future of the customer-company relationship.
